      *********************************************************************************

Fred and Lily were married in Kirkland Lake, Ontario Canada. Fred worked on the Harman farm where their first son Stephen was born Dec. 17, 1941. Fred went to Toronto for the spring work. He had a house on the farm in Toronto at Todd Morden Mills. He went south on a truck with their belongings. Lily and son Stephen went down on the train in May 1943 to join Fred. Joyce was born June 19, 1943 in Toronto.

Colleen Campbell, Lily's sister, was working in Toronto doing housekeeping before Fred and Lily moved down. She went to the farm at Todd Morden Mills often to visit. Later Colleen worked in a factory.

A second son, Glen, was born in Toronto. Fred and Lily moved back to New Liskeard and bought a farm on Highway 65 from Charlie McRoberts, Lily's brother-in-law. The family lived in a small house that used to be a garage while building a house. Stephen started school. It was a cozy little house. The kids walked two miles with other area kids to the public school at Chester's Corners.

A second daughter, Bonnie, was born at Georgina McRobert's house. Aunt Gena's house was located where the Highway 11 overpass is now. Later Madouse Ayotte bought the house and moved it to its present location.
