"We have copies of the wills of both Richard and Frances PIM. Richardís will was made on January 11, 1781, and proved on March 4, 1785, at a time when his children by his second wife, Frances, ranged in age from 6 to 11 years. He bequeathed all his estate, which in fact amounted to less than 300 pounds to his wife until his youngest child became 21 when it was to be divided share and share alike among his children. Frances PIM's will was made on July 14, 1821, and proved January 28, 1822, by which time her children had all attained their majority. The value of the estate was said to be less than 1500 pounds -considerably more than that of her late husband. The witnesses to her will were William CONSTABLE (married to Ann PYM), James TINNELL and Marchant PIERCE of Lindfield (married to Sarah PIM)"

      Lindfield Mill
1776: Thomas NEWLAND, paper maker, a deserter, was born at Lindfield. The
early proprietor or master paper maker is not known

1796: Frances PIM, paper maker, took an apprentice, Charles CONSTABLE. The
mill was in the hands of Frances PIM after 1800. In 1816 she was the
proprietor or master paper maker at this paper mill.

      Head Weir Mill, Exeter, Devon
1798: Edward PIM was about to begin the business of a paper maker in Exeter
on his own account, and gave notice that John HILL, paper maker, had no
concern in the buildings lately erected by Edward PIM for paper making.
Edward PIM's new-erected paper mill began work. A partnership between Edward
PIM and John WILCOCKS the younger, paper makers, must have been short-lived.
It was dissolved in 1800. The mill was in the hands of Edward PIM after
1800. In 1803 he was a master paper maker at Exeter.

This paper mill was still working in 1957, under the firm of Head Weir Paper
      Mills Ltd.

Higher Mill and Lower Mill, Countess Weir (2 mills), Devon
1798: The partnership between Joseph MACKENZIE, John PIM, Peter MACKENZIE
and Robert BROOKS, paper makers was dissolved. Only one reference to this
      partnership has been found.

1798: A notice referred to Oxenham & Co., paper makers (late T CHORLOCK's).
      In 1799 Thomas CHORLOCK, gentleman, of Exeter, insured the 2 paper mills;
the Higher Mill was in the tenure of Mr OXENHAM. Oxenham & Co. probably
consisted of Hugh OXENHAM and John PIM, who were paper manufacturers at
these mills in 1799. They were in possession of these mills after 1800. In
1803 Oxenham & Co. were master paper makers, and OXENHAM and PIM are
recorded in the same year. John PIM was a master paper maker in the Exeter
district at that time. In 1805 the 2 paper mills were insured by Hugh
OXENHAM, paper maker and mortgager, and Faith CHORLOCK, widow and mortgagee.

      Bramshott Mill, Hampshire
1747: Richard PIM, paper maker, took an apprentice, Joyce VARNHAM

1758: Richard PIM, paper maker, insured the utensils and stock in his paper
      mill

1760: Henry PIM, paper maker, insured the utensils and stock in his paper
mill. No change in the name of the master paper maker here is known up to
1800, but by that year, or shortly afterwards, Richard PIM held the mill. In
1801 Richard PIM, paper maker, insured the machinery and utensils in his
      paper mill.
