    • Doris Lorraine Constable was the last born child of Horace and Amy Searle Constable. By the time Doris was born the older children were married. Doris went to live with her sister, Bea and Percy Maxim in Boston and graduated from High School in the Boston area. She carried the US flag during her graduation even though she was a Canadian.

Doris was a very beautiful young woman who was an excellent swimmer.
She was in many swimming exhibitions all over the country and was a stand-in for Esther Williams. Doris also skated and skied, played tennis and golf. She bowled both 10 and 5 pins and has pins for 300 (over) and pins for 200 (over). There was a write up in the local newspaper paper for Golf " hole in one" and longest drive with a #2 iron. Her name is on a cup for golf at the Golf Club in Vancouver, BC.

Doris married Donald Johnston, who was taken under the wing of a lumber baron in BC. He had a very successful lumber company.

Doris and Don did sports together and traveled to England and Australia as well as many other countries. They spent their winters in Maui.
Don gave lumber to Bea and her husband, Charles. He built a 2 bedroom place on Bowen Island. Charles was caretaker for Don and Doris at this place.
