    • Arthur was born in Battersea, Surrey, England the second son and fourth child of Horace and Amy Searle Constable. He immigrated to Canada in 1900 with his parents and 4 siblings.

He married Dorothy Wright, a cousin to Hazel Crossman( m. to Horace Constable) and Hester Crossman (m. to John Constable). They had two sons, Donald Stewart and Harold Leonard. Dorothy died about 2 weeks after Harold was born and Arthur was left with 2 babies under the age of 14 months. Donald was sent to live with his grandparents, Horace and Amy Constable, who kept him until he was about four years old.

Harold,as an infant, was adopted by the Marsh family of Boston, Massachusetts. The Jordan and Marsh families were in Moncton during 1920's as they donated their summer residence to become the Jordan Home, a TB sanatorium which continues, today, as a medical facility.

Donald returned to live with his father and step mother, Gladys, who gave him two brothers, Arthur and Frederick . Later, they adopted Joseph and Carmel.

Arthur was a mechanist and worked in the shops for the Canadian National Railroad in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
He was very tall and lean, with dark curly hair and brown eyes.
Art had a great sense of humor and loved to eat oysters, especially fresh from the bay.

He suffered all his life from asthma and very weak lungs.
Arthur was a twin- the twin died at birth. There is no record of this in the PRO civil registration.
